We are pleased to announce that the new CIRIA (Construction Industry Research and Information Association) guidance on “Delivering Better Water Management through the Planning System”, has been published and is now available to download here
The guidance supports planning for water through the delivery of Integrated Water Management (IWM). Explaining the critical success factors required for successful IWM, the guidance also reviews existing policies nationwide and includes case studies demonstrating what good IWM looks like.
RAA were one of a number of companies who provided funding for the project. Director Kerry Foster also contributed through attendance at the project steering group meetings and attended the launch event in Leeds on Monday 25th November.
Kerry said “We are delighted to have been able to contribute to this guidance as we firmly believe that integrated water management delivers multiple benefits, vital to local town planning. We are pleased that the guidance has been endorsed by CIWEM, Royal Town Planning Institute, The Catchment Based Approach and the Town and Country Planning Association and we look forward to supporting the influence the guide will have on planning decisions.”
A free webinar will be taking place on Thursday 19th December at 11.30 to 13.30 which will give an overview of the guide and suggestions for best practice.
