Richard Allitt

Managing Director

Richard has more than 40 years experience working with many of the largest UK water companies and local authorities. With a background in Civil Engineering, project management and Urban Drainage, Richard has developed particular expertise in Hydraulic Modelling of Sewerage Systems and Rivers and 2D Modelling of Urban Flooding and is recognised as one of the leading thinkers in the urban drainage industry.

Martin Allitt


Martin is one of the company’s most experienced modellers, regularly presenting at various industry conferences and is well-known for his progressive thinking for hydraulic engineering and urban drainage.  His particular responsibilities are project management including technical development and overseeing the IT infrastructure within the company to ensure the company remains at the leading edge of technology.

Kerry Foster


Kerry has over 16 years’ experience in flood risk and water management in the UK. Kerry specialises in hydrological analysis and has significant experience in detailed hydrological studies as well as catchment-wide hydrological analyses. She has been involved as a principal hydrologist and project manager on a number of detailed and strategic flood risk mapping studies and Catchment Flood Management Plans for the Environment Agency.

John Hilson


John is a Civil Engineer with a BSc in Civil Engineering from Leeds University, he is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).  John has over 34 year’s experience in the Water Industry with various consultancy and utility companies.  Prior to joining RAA in August 2018 John was Divisional Director for a leading consultancy, responsible for over 80 staff delivering the wastewater infrastructure programmes for United Utilities and Severn Trent Water.

Phil Gelder


Phil has over 38 years experience in the Sewerage and Drainage industry having spent the last 21 years working for Severn Trent Water Ltd. Phil has particular expertise in dealing with sewer flooding problems for which he received a national award in 2004. Phil was also Severn Trent’s lead wastewater focus on dealing with the Gloucester flooding in 2007. More recently Phil helped Severn Trent prepare for the successful transfer of private drains and sewers.
